DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY

It’s very unfortunate that many reputable employers use this terrible outsourced company to handle sensitive information of prospective employees. Dealing with HireRight has been my worst nightmare! Believe it, folks! The reviews are ALL TRUE! This company is lazy and outright invasive in all the ways they gather their information. After reading about HireRight, I was so very afraid and had so much anxiety about the entire process...but I sucked it up and thought how bad can this be? If others can get through it and get a job, why can’t I? Maybe it will be different for me, right? WRONG! After just ONE DAY of attempting to verify my education as well as past employments, they started BOMBARDING me with emails saying that they "have been in contact" with my school but couldn’t verify my education. I submitted my info on a Friday afternoon and comes Monday morning they said they couldn’t get it, so they wanted me to send over my diploma. I thought it takes 10 days to complete this since it takes time to reach out to all the places but in just one day they already insinuated that what I submitted wasn’t verifiable. They also said they “contacted” a manager at my old work and was unable to verify my start and end date so they wanted a W-2. First of all, a W-2 doesn’t even show a start and end date so why does it matter??
I have never been asked to send over such private information to prove I worked at a place. I have been a victim of having my private information compromised so I was very uncomfortable with this process. I REFUSE to exchange private documents over the internet. Not only that, knowing that they outsource their work out to India and the Philippines is EXTREMELY concerning. I have been hired at many other places with full background checks and there has never been any issues. I was never asked to do my own background check and spoon feed information to a company like this. Isn’t that supposed to be their job!? What are they getting paid to do then? A week later, I got a copy of my background check report from HireRight in the mail. They had the audacity to mark the information that they were TOO LAZY to verify as DISCREPANCIES and my employers might withdraw the offer. What a joke! My reputation and my employment are jeopardized as a result of somebody else’s lack of work ethic!
I suggest to anybody that if your future employer use this company, make it known to them of your experience and request if it could be done some place else! BE WARNED! THIS COMPANY WILL SCREW YOU OVER.
