Always an extremely cautious person, slow to trust, and sure to closely guard my personal information, I diligently did my research & homework to check out "Modify Law Group." At that time they were rated with an A+ by the BBB. I have been waiting since August for my loan modification from Eric T. Smith and the Modify Law Group, but nothing has been done. My initial contact person, Jon McCurly, was personable and easy to reach. I was then passed on to a Zoey Fezian, the person whom was to handle the process. It is now the last day of November and I have gotten no responses from any of my emails sent and the phone numbers I was given are all disconnected. The website number that is posted currently is not "activated." There is no attorney license number listed, and the BBB now has them rated with an F. I am right on the verge of losing my home at this point. I paid $2495.00 to the law offices of Eric T. Smith and have gotten no updates, no notices....nothing. If I had known I would be defrauded and ripped off I could have kept my $2,400. and paid a house note with it and would NOT be on the verge of foreclosure and homelessness. How can the California State Bar Association allow one of it's licensees to steal from people with virtually NO accountability, and the ONLY punitive measures taken against Eric T. Smith is a 2 month suspension and a meaningless probation period of 2 years?!?!
